You’ve just received your Schumann frequency generator, or you’re thinking about buying one and want to know how it works? This practical guide explains everything: setup, setting frequencies, the ideal placement and routine ideas.
What’s in the generator
The generator comes as an electronic board, delivered without a case, which includes:
- Two large spiral coils, one on each side, which emit the signal as a very low-intensity electromagnetic field;
- an LED display showing the current frequency;
- a keypad from 0 to 9, with a decimal point key, a K key and an OK key;
- a 3.5 mm headphone jack to listen to audible frequencies on a speaker or earphones;
- a Micro USB port for 5 V power (cable included).
Setup in 30 seconds
- Plug the USB cable into a standard phone charger (5 V) or a power bank.
- The generator switches on directly at 7.83 Hz, the Schumann resonance. The value appears on the display.
- Place it wherever you like. It emits the signal continuously and silently, with nothing else to plug in.
Setting a different frequency
The generator covers every frequency from 0.01 Hz to 100,000 Hz, as a sine wave. To change it:
- Type the value on the keypad, then press OK. Example: 5, 2, 8, OK for 528 Hz.
- For a decimal value, use the decimal point key. Example: 7, ., 8, 3, OK to go back to 7.83 Hz.
- The K key is used to enter thousands. Example: 1, 0, K, OK for 10,000 Hz.
A few values worth knowing: 7.83 Hz (Schumann), 432 Hz (see our article 432 Hz vs 440 Hz), 528 Hz and the other Solfeggio frequencies, as well as the chakra frequencies.
Do you need a speaker?
Not for 7.83 Hz. That frequency is far too low to be heard, and no speaker can reproduce it: that’s why the generator emits it through its coils.
The headphone jack is an option for listening to audible frequencies, from about 20 Hz up: 432 Hz, 528 Hz, chakra frequencies… Plug in a wired speaker, a Bluetooth speaker with an AUX input, or earphones, and always keep the volume low.
Where to place the generator
The field emitted by the coils is weak and local: it’s mostly present right next to the board. So place the generator close to where you spend time:
- On your nightstand, for a calm moment before sleep;
- On your desk, during work sessions;
- In your meditation space, in front of you or next to your cushion;
- On a yoga mat, during your sessions.
Since it’s a bare electronic board, place it on a dry, non-metallic surface, away from liquids and out of reach of young children and pets. Unplug it when you’re not using it.
Three routine ideas
Grounding routine (15 minutes)
Leave the generator on 7.83 Hz near you. Sit with your feet on the floor and breathe slowly while visualizing a connection with the Earth.
Heart meditation (15 minutes)
Set 528 Hz, plug in a speaker at low volume, and focus on gratitude or on someone dear to you.
Chakra journey (20 minutes)
Move up from 396 Hz to 963 Hz, 2 to 3 minutes per frequency, bringing your attention to each energy center. Finish on 7.83 Hz to ground yourself.
Important
The generator is a wellness device designed to support meditation. It is not a medical device: it is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any disease, and it does not replace medical advice.
