Of all the frequencies used in meditation, 528 Hz is by far the most famous. It’s called the “love frequency,” the “miracle frequency” or the “frequency of transformation.” What’s behind these nicknames? Where does this frequency come from, and how can you use it? Here’s the full picture, without the myths.
What is 528 Hz?
528 Hz is a sound that vibrates 528 times per second. It sits in the midrange, around the high C of a piano tuned slightly higher than standard. It’s a clear tone, fairly gentle at low volume.
It belongs to the Solfeggio frequencies series, where it corresponds to the note “Mi,” associated with transformation. In the system of chakra frequencies, it is linked to the solar plexus chakra.
Why is it called the “love frequency”?
The nickname comes from the spiritual circles that popularized the Solfeggio frequencies from the 1990s onward. There, 528 Hz is presented as the central frequency of the series, associated with opening the heart, harmony and gratitude. The nickname was then picked up by thousands of meditation videos and playlists.
Does 528 Hz “repair DNA”?
You’ll often read that 528 Hz has the power to “repair DNA.” This claim is not based on any serious scientific study. It relies on interpretations and testimonials, not on controlled experiments. Likewise, no sound frequency has been shown to cure any disease.
That doesn’t stop you from enjoying 528 Hz for what it is: a gentle sound that’s pleasant to bring into a meditation focused on the heart, gratitude or an intention for change.
How to meditate with 528 Hz
- Set an intention: gratitude, kindness toward yourself, openness to change.
- Play 528 Hz at a low volume, in the background.
- Place a hand on your heart and breathe slowly, counting 4 on the inhale and 6 on the exhale.
- Visualize a warm light in the center of your chest that grows with each breath.
- Stay for 10 to 15 minutes, then finish with a minute of silence.
You can also combine 528 Hz with other frequencies: start with 396 Hz for letting go, continue with 528 Hz, and finish with 963 Hz or the 7.83 Hz Schumann frequency to ground yourself.
Listening to a true 528 Hz
Many “528 Hz” videos mix the frequency with music or use compressed audio, and the actual frequency isn’t always accurate. For a pure, precise wave, use a sacred frequency generator: type 5, 2, 8 then OK, and plug a speaker or headphones into the 3.5 mm jack.
In summary
- 528 Hz is the best-known Solfeggio frequency, nicknamed the “love frequency.”
- It’s associated with transformation, the heart and the solar plexus chakra.
- Claims that it “repairs DNA” are not scientifically proven.
- It’s an excellent support for a heart or gratitude meditation.
