In many energy traditions, each chakra is linked to a specific sound frequency. Using these frequencies during meditation is a simple way to bring your attention to one particular energy center. Here are the 7 most widely used chakra frequencies, along with a method for weaving them into your practice.
The 7 chakras and their frequencies
The most common correspondence is based on the Solfeggio frequencies:
- Root chakra (Muladhara) โ 396 Hz. Located at the base of the spine. Grounding, safety, stability. Color: red.
- Sacral chakra (Svadhisthana) โ 417 Hz. Below the navel. Creativity, emotions, flow. Color: orange.
- Solar plexus chakra (Manipura) โ 528 Hz. Above the navel. Confidence, willpower, personal energy. Color: yellow.
- Heart chakra (Anahata) โ 639 Hz. In the center of the chest. Love, compassion, relationships. Color: green.
- Throat chakra (Vishuddha) โ 741 Hz. At the throat. Expression, communication, truth. Color: blue.
- Third eye chakra (Ajna) โ 852 Hz. Between the eyebrows. Intuition, inner clarity. Color: indigo.
- Crown chakra (Sahasrara) โ 963 Hz. At the top of the head. Spiritual connection, consciousness. Color: violet.
Other systems exist: some schools link the chakras to musical notes (C, D, Eโฆ) or to other values. There is no “official” correspondence โ what matters is choosing one system and sticking with it to build a consistent routine.
How to meditate with chakra frequencies
Meditating on a single chakra
- Choose the chakra you want to work on based on your intention of the moment.
- Set the matching frequency and play it at a low volume.
- Get comfortable and close your eyes.
- Bring your attention to the related area of the body. You can visualize its color.
- Breathe slowly for 10 to 15 minutes, letting the sound accompany your breath.
A full journey through the 7 chakras
For a complete balancing session, move up from the root chakra to the crown chakra: 2 to 3 minutes per frequency, from 396 Hz to 963 Hz. Plan for about twenty minutes in total. Finish with a few minutes of silence to integrate the session.
The pineal gland and the third eye
The third eye chakra is often linked to the pineal gland, a small gland located in the center of the brain that many spiritual traditions regard as the seat of intuition. For a pineal gland activation meditation, practitioners usually work with 852 Hz or 963 Hz, combined with a visualization at the forehead.
The right equipment for an accurate frequency
When you meditate with the chakras, precision matters: an online video doesn’t always play the frequency it claims, and the sound is often compressed. A sacred frequency generator produces a pure sine wave, exactly at the value you enter. Just type 3, 9, 6 then OK for the root chakra, then 4, 1, 7 for the sacral chakra, and so on. Plug a speaker or headphones into the jack output to listen.
At the end of the session, you can return to 7.83 Hz, the Schumann resonance, which many people use as a grounding frequency to connect with the Earth.
In summary
- Each chakra is traditionally associated with a frequency, from 396 Hz (root) to 963 Hz (crown).
- You can meditate on one specific chakra or do a full 20-minute journey.
- These practices belong to wellness and spirituality, not medicine.
- A generator lets you play each frequency in a precise, pure way.
